Description
Daiwa 26 Certate SW 8000-H Spinning Reel – 25kg Drag, 5.6:1, Magsealed Saltwater Reel
The Daiwa 26 Certate SW 8000-H is a saltwater spinning reel for anglers who fish hard from boats, rocks and reefs. Salt water, sand and long fights wear out ordinary reels fast: gears start to grind, drags lose smoothness and bearings rust after a few trips. The 26 Certate SW deals with this using a one-piece aluminium Monocoque body, a Magsealed main shaft and line roller, and Daiwa’s Powerdrive Design, brought over from the Saltiga range. You get up to 25kg of drag and a 5.6:1 gear ratio that picks up 110cm of line per handle turn. The spool holds 300m of PE 4 braid. It suits offshore casting, reef and flats fishing, and bait fishing for tuna, amberjack and other hard-fighting fish. If you want one dependable 8000-size reel for sea fishing in India, order yours from Fishingmonk.
Features
-
Powerdrive Design: The gear, rotor and oscillation system are designed together to put more of your cranking power into the fish. This is the first time Daiwa has used it outside the Saltiga line.
-
Aluminium Monocoque (MQ) body: A one-piece body with no side-plate screws stays rigid under load and keeps water out better. It also has room for a bigger, stronger drive gear.
-
Powerdrive Tough Digigear: The larger, precision-milled main gear is built to last longer than conventional gears when you’re winding against heavy fish.
-
Powerdrive Zaion rotor: The rotor flexes less when the reel is loaded up, so cranking stays smooth and controlled mid-fight.
-
Power Roller Oscillation: Lower friction inside the reel means easier winding when a big fish is pulling hard.
-
Magsealed main shaft and line roller: A magnetic oil seal helps keep salt water and dust away from the internals, protecting smoothness trip after trip.
-
ATD Tough drag, 25kg max: The drag gives line smoothly on long runs, so you can fish heavier braid with confidence.
-
9+1 bearings, including 3 corrosion-resistant (CRBB): Smooth rotation, with extra protection where salt exposure is highest.
-
Egg-shaped handle knob: A firm, comfortable grip for long casting sessions and working surface lures.
-
Made in Japan: Built in Daiwa’s Japanese production.

Ideal use cases: best suited for
-
Offshore lure casting: The H gear picks up line quickly while the 25kg drag holds strong fish.
-
Reef and flats fishing: Daiwa positions the 8000-H as a power-and-speed all-rounder for this kind of fishing.
-
Bait fishing from boats: 300m of PE 4 gives room for long runs from big fish.
-
Tuna, amberjack and similar offshore species: The 8000 size is recommended for jigging and casting for these fish.
-
Saltwater only, intermediate to experienced anglers: It is sealed and built for salt. A 665g reel pairs best with a heavy offshore spinning rod.
-
Light-to-medium jigging: It works for jigging. If you mostly fish deep vertical jigs, the 8000-P (lower 4.8:1 gear) gives more cranking power.
