Description

Daiwa J-Braid Expedition X8 Braided Line 30lb (PE 2.5) 500m – Orange

The Daiwa J-Braid Expedition X8 is an 8-strand braided line in 30lb (PE 2.5), on a 500m hi-vis orange spool for saltwater lure fishing and light shore jigging. Braid that wears out fast costs you twice. Salt and grit soak into the fibres, the line turns fuzzy and weak, and you end up cutting off metres or re-spooling after only a few trips. Worse, the weak section often breaks on a good fish. Expedition is built to slow that wear down. Daiwa’s IZANAS fibre gets a silicone “Coating PE” finish that repels water, so silt and sediment stay out of the line. A very tight weave keeps it round and resistant to fraying, and the bright orange is easy to follow on the water. Spool up and order online from Fishingmonk, with delivery across India.

Features

  • 30lb / PE 2.5 strength: A middle line class with enough power for strong inshore fish that still casts lighter lures well, so one spool covers a lot of your fishing.
  • 500m spool: Enough line to fill a 5000-size spinning reel such as the Daiwa BG SW 5000D-CXH, which holds PE 2.5 – 300m, with about 200m left over for a top-up or a second reel.
  • 8-strand construction: A round, smooth line that runs quietly through the guides, so you get longer, cleaner casts.
  • IZANAS fibre: Daiwa’s high-performance PE fibre gives consistent strength along the spool, so there are fewer weak spots.
  • Silicone “Coating PE” finish: Repels water instead of absorbing it, so the line stays slick and sensitive through long casting sessions.
  • Doesn’t absorb silt and sediment: The grit that wears braid from inside stays out, so the line lasts longer in the sea.
  • High weave count, tight braid: The line holds its round shape and resists separating and fraying under load.
  • Hi-vis orange: Easy to see against the water, so you can watch your line for bites and track where a fish is running.
  • Made in Japan.

Specifications

SIZE (PE) TEST DIAMETER(mm) LENGTH (mtr)
#2.5 30lb - 19.5kg 0.22mm 500

Best suited for

  • Light shore jigging from rocks and breakwaters: PE 2.5 casts metal jigs well and has the strength to control mid-size saltwater fish.
  • Casting poppers, stickbaits and spoons: The smooth 8-strand profile helps lures cast far, and the orange line makes it easy to watch your lure’s path.
  • Inshore boat jigging: Strong enough to lift fish off reefs and structure in moderate depths.
  • Coastal predators: The line class suits fish like Queenfish, Trevally, Barracuda and Barramundi on lures.
  • 4000–5000 size spinning reels: PE 2.5 is a common line class for these reel sizes. Check your reel’s capacity before spooling.
  • Use with a leader: Pair it with a fluorocarbon or nylon leader for abrasion resistance and a less visible link to the lure.
  • Saltwater care: Rinse the spool in fresh water after sea trips.
