Description
Daiwa SaqSas D Swivel – Fluorine-Coated Rolling Swivel, #6 (26kg) & #8 (18kg)
The Daiwa SaqSas D Swivel is a compact rolling swivel that keeps your line straight and tangle-free. Line twist is one of the most common reasons rigs tangle, baits spin unnaturally and line weakens over a day’s fishing. Ordinary plated swivels often stop turning freely once they’re under load or start to wear. Daiwa solves this by applying the same New Plating Technology used on its SaqSas hooks to the swivel, with a fluorine coating that reaches inside the swivel body. Daiwa says this gives about six times the rotation of a standard plated swivel and about 3.5 times the wear durability. Choose #6 (26kg) or #8 (18kg) to suit your line and rig. Stock up on dependable swivels for your next trip at Fishingmonk.
Features
- SaqSas New Plating Technology: The same fluorine-based coating Daiwa uses on its SaqSas hooks, applied to the swivel for smoother turning.
- Coating inside the swivel: The fluorine coating covers the internal contact points too, so the swivel spins freely right where friction normally builds up.
- About 6x the rotation of plated swivels: It turns easily even under load, so twist doesn’t build up on your line.
- About 3.5x wear durability: The swivel keeps spinning smoothly for longer, so you don’t need to replace it after a few trips.
- Less line twist and fewer tangles: Baits and rigs hang naturally, and your main line stays easier to manage on the reel.
- Small and light: At about 10–11mm and under 0.2g, it adds almost no bulk or weight to your rig.
- Strong for its size: 18kg (#8) and 26kg (#6) give a good safety margin for most light-to-medium line setups.

Ideal use cases
- Joining main line to leader: A small, strong link that stops twist travelling up to your reel.
- Bottom and float rigs from piers and breakwaters: Daiwa lists breakwater fishing as the main use, where baits and sinkers turn on the current.
- Rigs that tend to spin: Live bait, cut bait and spinning lures twist line quickly, and a free-turning swivel takes that twist out.
- Light boat rigs: It’s small enough not to spoil your presentation, but strong enough for everyday fish.
- Choosing a size: Use #8 (18kg) for lighter lines and smaller rigs, and #6 (26kg) for heavier leaders or bigger baits. Pick a swivel rated stronger than your line.
- All skill levels: It’s a simple, reliable upgrade from basic plated swivels.
